Glendore Public School’s Welcome Yarn 2019

Glendore Public School held our initial Welcome Yarn and Personalised Learning Pathways (PLP) goal-setting afternoon in Term 1, Week 8.

The families and caregivers of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students joined the staff of Glendore and Awabakal for an afternoon yarn and barbecue to discuss their children’s learning goals for Semester One.

Awabakal provided families with useful information and resources, and generously hosted the afternoon barbecue. The staff of Glendore are grateful for this wonderful contribution and look forward to liaising with Awabakal in our upcoming NAIDOC and future PLP events.

During the Welcome Yarn, students had the opportunity to discuss their learning goals with their classroom teacher, as well as be guided through accessing their goals online via Goalhub.

The students of Glendore are already working hard to achieve their goals for Semester One and the staff are looking forward to seeing their impressive results when their PLP plans are reviewed at the upcoming NAIDOC celebration. Keep an eye out for our next article showcasing our exciting NAIDOC events!
